Despite the bridge can be accessed from points around San Francisco, the outlook is better to withdraw from Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Surrounding the bay from San Francisco, the GGNRA is one of the most visited units of the national park system. Over 13 million people come to this area each year to see the big red bridge, among other activities.
The Park is deceptively large, as it is not an aspect of land adjacent but rather a series of parks that runs from northern San Mateo County Down in southern Marin County. It runs along 59 miles of the coast. The GGNRA should not be confused, However, with the Golden Gate Park, which is managed by the city of San Francisco as a separate entity.
There is no shortage of things to do in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. On a hot summer day, it is not uncommon to see people biking, rollerblading, and jogging on some of countless well-maintained trails.
